I'd have Moore down as the greatest British player of all time.

Not sure you can compare forwards with defenders?

Both better than Moore?

Re: Zinedine Zidane
Cough - IMO Best doesn't quite feature in the select group of the greatest ever, but is the greatest player to emerge from the British Isles, followed by Gascoigne.

Oh Zidane, Oh Zidane, Zidane next to me.... is still my favourite quiz team name.

That headbutt was probably the best thing he ever did

Re: Zinedine Zidane
On topic?

Zidane was the most skilful ALL-ROUND footballer I think I've ever seen. Even if it was just on TV. Absolute wizard with a ball.

Good headbutting too.

Canada - Please just fuck off to KUMB.

Re: Zinedine Zidane
Alright chaps, I knew this would generate some discussion purely because of the subjective matter but where does anyone place George Best in the Pantheon of top players?

Internationally it was a shame he never got to show what he can do on the big stage due to Norn Iron being a bit shit

When people say "Messi is the best ever." . They mean the best they have ever seen

One of the most underrated simply because he is almost never in GOAT discussions

One of my favourite things about you, iyawns, is that you can't leave things. You have to respond. Amuses me no end.

Back to the standard (dare I say, boring) responses.

Have a great day, son.

I know you are not reading so I don't expect response but which of my opinions do you mean, that he should have been gone after the lack of progression in his third year or after he failed to motivate the players at all in second half of last year?

Re: Zinedine Zidane
Excellent point IOC

I found myself reading a few posters that I said I wouldn't including Hugh and Fordstar. I think it was the good mood I was in after the cloud lifted after Allardyce left. I guess I wanted to see you choke on humble pie after your opinions of him were proved wrong as expected.

I'll take your advice and stop reading again. It does make this site much more enjoyable.

Ciao

Yes, I saw that after I'd posted. Unsurprisingly, I didn't make it to the end of one of your posts again first time around. I had to take a brief sejour in the middle of it to stay awake.
